Gifts in Kind are a great way for companies to show their support to the Hospice. At THc we look to receive either a contribution of money that can buy much needed items for the Hospice or products that can be used on our patients.
Glaxo SmithKline in Maidenhead generously donated 500 bottles of their products for the THc 2010 Sunrise Walk. Pictured is Alistair Lucocq and Phil Macey who with other collegues have also spent time at Thames Hospicecare in Windsor, painting fences and erecting shelving for their employee volunteering scheme.
We would like to hear from any other Corporates that would like to offer a donation of Gifts in Kind for our Goody Bags that we hand to our particpants for both the Midnight Walk and the Santa Dash. We also look for items we can use in raffles and auctions or as prizes to use as an incentive to encourage people when raising sponsorship money at our events. We also need items for our patients to use such as: toiletries, bed linen, towels etc.
This form of support benefits us as it reduces costs, and from the company's point of view it is a good way of supporting the Hospice with minimum costs.
