Ethical Trading Statement

Thames Hospicecare recognises the importance of ethical trading and the social responsibility that this entails.

The suppliers used by Thames Hospicecare source their products from countries with diverse cultures and economies and as such we request that they operate within the guidelines set out by the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI)

The ETI Base Code states:

• Employment is freely chosen
• Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected
• Working conditions are safe and hygienic
• Child labour shall not be used
• Living wages are paid
• Working hours are not excessive
• No discrimination is practised
• Regular employment is provided
• No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed

Please note all THc suppliers are members of the ETI but THc have requested and been supplied with a Code of Practice from each of their suppliers which demonstrates that they operate within the required guidelines.

This applies to new goods bought in by Thames Hospicecare for sale in their shops.
