When you bring your donated goods such as; clothes, bric a brac, books and any other saleable item to Thames Hospicecare shop, we can reclaim tax on them when sold? This increases the value of your donation by 25%
How
It's easy! Bring your good quality items to the THc Homestore & Donations Centre or any one of our THc shops located in the Berkshire region.
It's simple! If you are a UK tax payer, you will be asked to complete a simple Gift Aid Declaration Form and we will give you a unique Supporter ID Card to use for all future donations of goods.
We will do the rest! Once your goods have been sold we will write to you to let you know how much has been raised and with your consent, Thames Hospicecare will be able to reclaim the tax from HM Revenue and customs.
Why?
How much? Gift Aid means that we can raise an additional 25p in every £1.00
That means...
- A skirt for sale at £5.00, gift aided it is worth £6.40
- A bag of donated items valued at £25.00, gift aided is worth £32.00
Where? We have introduced Gift Aid in all our shops, Thc Homestore and for all van collections. So, the next time you are in one of our outlets do ask about Gift Aid and sign up to help us raise even more money at no extra cost to you.
What if? If you are not a UK taxpayer, do you have someone in the household who is? If yes, simply collect a form from your local shop; ask the taxpayer to complete it and return the form to your local shop. A Supporter ID Card will then be issued.
