Complementary Therapy

Providing a wide range of therapies in the local community

The experience of being diagnosed with a serious illness impacts upon both the patient and members of the family. Its effects can be different for everyone depending on who we are, the nature of the illness and its treatment, our life experiences and the nature of the support we have aroTHc Rose Walk und us.

It is normal to experience painful and difficult emotions relating to the illness and its treatment and the impact this has upon your self, your life and your loved ones. However, at times such feelings can seem overwhelming and bring significant anxiety (including for example phobias panic and traumatic stress) low mood, relationship difficulties or other psychological problems.

If the illness and/or its treatments have caused a patient or anyone close to them Counselling roomssuch difficulties they may benefit from specialist emotional/psychological support. This can be arranged at THc via the counselling and psychology team.

THc provides a wide range of therapies, both at the Hospice and in the community, aimed at alleviating symptoms and improving quality of life.

The Complementary Therapy Team provides massagGarden chimes es, aromatherapy, reflexology and reiki to people attending Day Support, as an out-patient/in-patient or in the community.

Qualified therapists assess each person and offer treatments deemed appropriate and safe for their particular care needs.
